Dunc Marlow

Stevie Ward - Wardy

Pictured here on his 29th birthday last year, Dunc is a young, successful, acclaimed musician, band leader, sound engineer and all round know all! Trained by
NASA ( Northampton Association of Sound Anoraks ) - he has many credits to his name - a fourth wife, three kids, three legs and three strings on his bass guitar, which is one more than he can use.

But seriously……many years with a professional touring sound rental company helped complete my 'apprenticeship' in the music biz and gave me the inspiration to launch Phoenix. To all my pro-audio mates ( still working or retired ! ) thanks, you know who you are.

Born a local boy into a family of poachers, Stevie learned how to write by reading graffitti on the bus station wall. Educated at the local establishment of criminal minds Trinity Upper school, Steve left with at least one O'level in 1984. After a series of extremely successful careers (lawnmower spares storeman?, roofer) and a bout of executive stress he dropped out (man) and got into a shed load of debt by studying for a degree in the particularly interesting field of computer software development - then used his Honours to help Dunc set up Phoenix - er..yeh!

Stevie has been playing the guitar since he swapped his ZX spectrum that he didn't understand for a Les Paul copy which to this day he still doesn't understand. He continues to play the guitar badly and hurt peoples ears in the demo room. Stevie has been using computers to make music since 1993 and still has no idea what he is doing....thank you Northampton and good night.
